Central Florida has a unique position in the world as a hub for Turbine, Energy and Space technologies.

With the presence of Siemens Power Generation, Pratt & Whitney, Mitsubishi Power Systems, Elliott Microturbines, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Kennedy Space Center in or near Central Florida, the Center for Advanced Turbines and Energy Research  @ University of Central Florida has a unique opportunity and responsibility for taking the leadership in innovation and advanced technology development for:

(1) Turbines for propulsion as well as power generation
(2)  Portable power and energy systems for aviation/space/distributed generation applications, and
(3) use of coal or biomass-derived, liquid or gaseous synthetic fuels for power generation and air/ground;transportation.
